About

Hi, I'm CJ.

I build software that closes the gap between what AI can do and what users actually need — and I'm comfortable explaining it to both engineers and non-engineers.

I'm completing an M.S. in Computer Science (AI) at Stanford, on top of a B.S. with a focus in Human-Computer Interaction. That combination shapes how I think about problems — technically rigorous, but always with the user in mind.

Background

I've shipped a production mobile app for an NFL athlete, co-founded and led the technical build of a marketplace startup from zero to MVP, and spent four years competing as a Division I water polo player — including a year as team captain. That last one taught me more about managing competing demands and executing under pressure than anything else I've done.

What I'm looking for

I'm drawn to roles where engineering and customer impact overlap — Applied AI Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer — where I can help translate technical capabilities into real business outcomes. I want to be close to the problem, move fast, and build things people actually use.

Outside of work

When I'm not at a keyboard I'm usually outside — backpacking, exploring somewhere new, or planning the next trip. I have strong opinions about mac and cheese. I also just like building things, which turns out to be a pretty useful trait in software.
